Home to one of the best sand breaks in the PNW, Otter Rock is the wild Oregon coast yet still close enough for a quick drive to Depoe Bay or Newport. That said, I can’t imagine why you’d want to leave this amazing yurt, which is some of the best glamping on the Oregon Coast! 

This spacious yurt features an open floor plan with a full kitchen and bathroom, gas stove, and two futons (note it’s BYOB – bring your own bedding). Wake up and have coffee and breakfast on your wraparound deck and take in the ocean views.

In the evening there’s an outdoor bbq with string lights and a patio table. Mere steps to the beach and Devils Punchbowl, and only two blocks down to Otter Rock for sensational surfing. They also have a heated outdoor shower and surf rack.

The Dunes – Stay in a Vintage Trailer on the Oregon Coast

This beautifully refurbished 27’ Airstream trailer is well appointed and comes with a memory foam queen bed as well as a fold down twin bed. The trailer itself is lovely, but the real draw is the community you’ll be a part of.

The dome is two levels inside. The bottom floor has two small bedrooms, one with a queen and another with a twin, as well as a bathroom with a walk-in rain showerhead. A tipi! This is very cool and VERY rustic, so be prepared. On the glamping spectrum, this is the closest to actual camping that it gets, described by the hosts as, “camping with a little flair.” 

The tipi is on a 40 acre sheep farm and you get the secluded back 20 acres all to yourself. There are two beds inside and a little seating area, but you’ll have to bring your own bedding and pillows. There’s a picnic table out front as well as solar powered string lights inside and out.

There’s a private toilet that’s really just a fancy home for a five gallon bucket with a seat attached (better to know up front!). If this sounds fun to you (and it does to me!), this could be your next central Oregon glamping getaway!

Panacea at the Canyon

If you’re on the hunt for first-class retreat, look no further! Billed as a three-day luxury retreat, just reading about this place makes me feel tranquil and peaceful. Each giant tent has either a queen or king bed, their own attached bathroom (with a gorgeous outdoor shower), hard wood floors, organic linens, and a wood stove. 

Staying at Panacea is definitely an all-encompassing experience – they strive to give every guest the off-grid feeling but also retain luxuries like their on-site spa, art gallery, and yoga sessions. They also encourage you to explore the local area with hiking options or even hot air balloon rides!

Elk Lake Resort

This is some of the best glamping in Portland as you’ll have the city minutes away, but are also right next to Powell Butte, a 600 acre nature preserve with trails for hiking or biking.
